How many musicians should we book?
The more musicians in a Batucada the 'bigger' and 'impressive' the sound. You should consider the type of venue that is holding your event and whether it is indoors or outdoors. However, we can guarantee that, whatever you choose, you'll receive great value and superb entertainment! Does the band carry its own sound system?
Our band is based in Brazilian lively percussion, so it is um-amplified, but in the case of a stage show we normally add singing and cavaquinho, so we would recommend checking with us on enquiry.
Are there any restrictions for the sound?
Your venue will be able to advice on the sound restrictions for your event. Please make sure you let us kwon when booking the 'Batucada' and we will cater for this. This may restrict but not affect the quality of the performance.
Does the DJ bring its own sound system?
Only with on request we could arrange a sound system for your event with an extra cost, but we always recommend checking with us on enquiry before booking.
Special requests
We are very flexible and experienced at adapting our performance to take advantage of the moment and the reaction of the crowd. We will actively encourage audience participation and are guaranteed to give a memorable performance. All of our artistes & DJ's are happy to perform special requests with advanced notice. Please advise us before your booking is confirmed.
Safety & Changing Facilities
Due to the big plumed costumes, our dancers will need easy access to the performance area and will ensure that it is free of obstacles that may pose a security or fire risk.
Also, our artistes will require separate changing facilities. We will advise you of any further requirements, as parking facilities, etc. before confirming your booking.
When will you arrive/set up?
We normally prefer to arrive at least an hour and a half before the event so that we can set up the equipment and change.
Refreshments?
The artistes would gratefully appreciate refreshments where available as they work very long hours and might not have access to local facilities.
Performance times
Due to the time it takes to pack away and travel home, we can only perform for the times indicated within the contract. As we are experienced entertainers, we will ensure that the performance starts and ends at the correct time. Whilst some flexibility can be accommodated within the contracted times, in general, the performance schedule must be adhered to.
What about the prices?
The performance details will vary according to your requirements, so the price may vary considerably depending on the number of musicians, duration of performance, Dj Services, etc. We always take detailed information about your event before providing you with an accurate quotation of costs plus any traveling expenses. This is the price you pay with no other hidden costs!
No hidden costs?
If your event is outside London you may have to meet extra traveling expenses for the group, instruments & costumes, which we have set rates for. These expenses pay for van hire, petrol, insurance and (where applicable) overnight accommodation. It can be an expensive business traveling to and from venues so it is imperative that the group can recoup these expenses.
Do you give discounts?
We do offer reductions on multiple bookings and occasionally have special offers available for Charity Events. Please contact us for further information.
Payment
All shows must be secured for any event with a deposit. We would invoice you and this can be paid by bank or cheque. A final payment will be required on the day of the event before starting the show, allowing you to enjoy your event hassle free.
Peace of mind?
We support all bookings through contracts and once we receive a securing deposit, your booking is guaranteed. All of our performers are professionals. They do not accept other bookings for that date regardless of the fee and even if one of them falls sick we will be able to find a suitable replacement so as not to affect their performance. We have the experience to ensure your event is a complete success.
